Blue Moon | Cashmere Blend | PREORDER

Blue Moon is a nod to the moody feeling many of us have in late winter: tired of cold, eager for spring. It’s a color you’ll want to reach for all year, but especially in these early spring days. It’s inspired by a brief passage in Anne of Green Gables, that, to me, feels like the same kind of wistful:

Now and then you might see a rabbit skipping across the road if you were quiet—which, with Anne and Diana, happened about once in a blue moon.

    About Blue Moon

I start with a mid-tone denim blue and speckled it with shades of purple mulberry and turquoise to give the final color the feeling of watercolors shifting from blues to purples to aquas. It’s a rich, deeply layered colorway that you’ll want to get on your needles or crochet hook right away!

About this yarn base: Cashmere Blend

Your knitted fabric will be softer than anything you can imagine. It's also drapey and plush, which is a stunning combination. You can make:

    • Shawls and cowls that will be super soft and warm.
    • Lightweight sweaters that are perfect for transitional seasons like late autumn or early spring. The cashmere content gives them extra warmth.
    • Socks, too. I've used Cashmere Blend for socks for several years, and they are plush and luxurious.

This is a preorder and will ship in 4-6 weeks.

NOTE: This is my color of the season and also the February/March 2025 Kindred Spirits club colorway.

If you are a club member ordering more, please note that your extra skeins likely will not match your club skein. Variations between dye lots can be significant. Please order enough yarn for your project, and contact me if you want to exchange your club skein for one that will match your new order.

Do you need to alternate skeins?

For socks, no. For garments and shawls that use more than one skein, yes. All of my yarn is dyed by hand in small batches of four skeins. There will be variations in color intensity and placement. I think that’s part of what makes each skein perfect – they’re not identical. If you will be using more than 1 skein in your project, alternate skeins to blend any color differences.

    Caring for your finished item

My yarn should always be hand-washed with a gentle wool wash and cold-water rinse.

Depending on the difference in chemistry between your local water and mine, there may be some color residue in the wash process. Washing and rinsing in cold water will help to minimize this.

Always let your knitted item air dry to prevent shrinking or felting and to keep your item looking its best.
